trip day 2

- stopped in isiolo, which is sort of the nexus of arab, kikuyu, and somali cultures in kenya. place is overrun with military folks, and we were told not to tell anyone we were from america. hogwash. my friend and i went to a local bar and got re-taught mancala (called adjua here) by some old men. it was a pretty funny sight - about fifteen kenyans of all different cultures crowded around two bewildered white kids as they get yelled at by old dudes where to cast their stones. i won, but its only because ive started to learn to count in swahili while my opponent just frustrated his instructor.

- that night we went to another local bar and brought hockey to kenya. we also our bus driver and the bartender to sing "my girl" with us, a tradition we intend to carry out for some time. learned many kenyan cuss words. also learned that many kenyans love professional wrestling (the fake kind). who knew?
