heaven on eart

hard for words to capture what even pictures cant really capture, but kiwi beach is perhaps the most beautiful place ive ever been.

run by a leathery elf named sheila (5'0 clearly less than 100 pounds) and her two german shephards, our beach cottages are just the right mixed of development (running water, fridge) and isolation (miles from nearest city, no beach hawkers, no resturaunts or bars drawing lots of people in). right on the beach with almost no one else around, fisherman who you watch out on the reefs fishing in the morning come up (not overbearingly) to sell fresh fish, octapus, and prawns, as well as fresh fruit and juice.

for three days, we wake up for sunset, go swimming out to corral (eventually start snorkling), with one of the black labs, kimmel, who also lives around, lay on the beach while two of us make breakfast, more swimming until lunch...start collecting wood and make a bonfire to bbq our take from the morning.

all the while enjoying the sights of the indian ocean, with its 75 degree temperature, beautiful skyline (weird that sunrise happens over the ocean here, not sunset), and gorgeous, nearly empty coastline.

perfect.
