hippie mentality fail

process > results as an organizing strategy reaches comical heights in many Kenyan NGOs.

process is certainly important, but it doesnt take more that three days to realize that an organization with no expectation of results (especially when the result isnt a profit margin, its helpin folks!) is inadequate.

it turns out KEDAN is pretty good about demanding that the right procedures also produce good results, but other groups we visit and work with dont seem to be interested in burdening themselves with such oppressive tasks as getting things done.

late project + people reading newspaper and chatting entire day = frustration
