water scarcity 1, kenya 0

saw lake nanyuki, which is a key water source for a lot of kenya as well as tanzania. lots of flamingos. very pretty. they are pink from the algae they eat, i am told.

also, the lake might dry up completely in 10 years, leaving millions with no water source. this seemed problematic to those of us on the trip, but apparently the kenyan government is less concerned. the situation is easier to understand when you get to walk around on the recently-dried lake bed (recent: several dried up acres in the last 2 years)
