lessons learned in seedy raggae nightclubs

- the best place for the friend you met at kenyatta u who works as a security guard to hang out is not necessarily the best place for the scrawny white kid to hang out

- (by way of my friend adam) the woman in a short skirt offering to buy you a drink is not terribly interested in comparing the state of opposition party politics in kenya and the united states

- it is, in fact, possible to pole dance to sheryl crow

- it is not, in fact, possible to do so without the group of already-misplaced white kids collapsing into giggles while watching you

- taxi negotiations are best done sober. better yet: taxi negotiations are best done by kenyans.

- the man who asks to marry you after one dance is probably not the right man to give your number to

it was fun though...sort of.
